Correspondent docent Anissa Harper will share the seasonally decorated DAR Museum period room exhibition, taking a look at the evolution of Christmas and other winter holidays celebrated in America. Members are encouraged to bring a show-and-tell item representing their own winter holiday traditions. The program will be followed by a holiday celebration. Bring a dish to share. - February 2025 — Children of the American Revolution
The Children of the American Revolution is the nation’s oldest, largest, patriotic youth organization and offers membership to anyone under the age of 22 who is a descendant of someone who supported the American Revolution. C. A. R. activities focus on patriotism, service, and education about our American heritage. The New York State Society includes local societies across the Empire State and over 340 members. Learn about the NY C. A. R. at this program. The 2024-2025 New York State Project “Helping Military Families” aims to raise funds for Albany Fisher House to purchase new kitchen appliances and make other upgrades. The Fisher House Foundation provides free accommodations for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers.

The Kirkwood Town Historian will discuss the early settlement of the Kirkwood area by Revolutionary War veterans. We will also celebrate Women’s History Month with presentation of the Woman of Achievement Award. - April 2025 — Garden as Though Life Depends on It: The Importance of Going Native
Learn how important native plant species are for the ecology of our land, from the farm to small urban landscape. You’ll hear abut native alternatives to some of the most widely used ornamental landscaping plants now considered to be invasive. Presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Volunteers. - May 2025 — Annual Meeting, Recognition, and Memorial Service
We will elect new officers and delegates to state conference, remember Daughters we’ve lost in the past year, and recognize members’ achievements. Bring a dish to share. - June 2025 — Pilgrimage: Lafayette Bicentennial Celebrations
2024-2025 marks the bicentennial of General Lafayette’s Farewell Tour across the United States. We’ll attend the local celebration activities in Syracuse and/or Rome, NY. More information will be shared as event details are finalized. - July 2024 — DAR-SAR Picnic
